Maine winters can be absolutely stunning. There is something magical about waking up to a clean blanket of snow! But let’s be honest – they’re also completely unpredictable. And as a photographer, that can be tough, especially if you’re used to shooting outdoors. Of course, if you’re from Maine, you know that the weather in any season can be totally wonky, but winter comes with its own special set of challenges!
So let’s talk about Maine photo studios!
At a studio (like Evermore Place!), you’ll get a reliable, comfortable (think warm!), and creative space to work in, no matter the weather outdoors! In this blog, I’ll share with you ten benefits of indoor studio sessions for photography, content creation, and small events!
Snow, ice, wind, mud, and rain have nothing on an indoor photo studio! Your sessions won’t get canceled or rescheduled last minute because of rain or snow, so while the weather may be unpredictable, your schedule won’t be.
At an indoor photo studio, clients won’t shiver or sweat. Shooting in a comfortable environment means your clients will be less likely to want to rush through their photos! This is especially important if you’re taking photos of kids and families.
If you’re shooting outdoors, golden hour is key (and noontime shoots can be a nightmare!). But by renting a Maine photo studio, daytime, midday, and even evening sessions are possible! The controlled lighting allows more options for busy families & business owners – and more flexibility for you, the photographer! One of my favorite things about Evermore Place is the dreamy natural lighting!
While I can’t speak for all Maine photo studios, at Evermore Place there is easy parking (and in the winter, plowed!), safe walking, and no downtown driving stress! This makes photoshoots extra easy for clients with kids, mobility needs, or lots of props to carry!
Don’t get me wrong, I love a gorgeous beach photoshoot. But there’s definitely something to be said about convenient bathroom access! At an indoor photo studio, your clients will be able to take a break and sip some water in a comfy chair without the risk of sand (or mud or grass!) ruining your their outfits!
Speaking of outfits, by booking a Maine photo studio, there won’t be any awkward car changes in the cold (so uncomfortable!). This allows for more variety in brand shoots, senior portraits, maternity shoots, and more!
Nature is gorgeous (I am a Mainer, after all!), but the curated props and setups that you get with Maine photo studios allow for multiple looks and moods in one location, which doesn’t often happen in the great outdoors! At Evermore Place, you’ll find season sets (like our holiday setup!), creative corners, and clean modern backdrops, so there’s a little something for everyone. I even have a special Prop Closet that my clients have total access to!
By shooting in a Maine photo studio, it’s guaranteed that there won’t be any crowds watching your shoot (which also means there won’t be extra people to Photoshop out!). This is perfect for shy clients, kids, or brands that simply need distraction-free time! The privacy and comfort of a photo studio creates a safe and welcoming space for all.
There is something to be said about stability. Indoor photo studios mean predictable lighting and a known environment! There’s no showing up to a location and finding unexpected construction or park closures (not to mention that pesky weather!). When booking a Maine photo studio, you’ll have the ability to ask the studio owner questions about the space, lighting, and setups (something you can’t do outdoors!).
One of my favorite things about Evermore Place is that it’s not just a Maine photo studio. It’s also a content studio and small event space! So, not only is it a great space for photographers to rent, but it’s perfect for business owners creating content, workshops, styled shoots, and small gatherings!
Maine photo studios provide consistency, guarantee comfort, and foster creativity, making them the perfect solution for Maine winters, mud season, and those never-ending April showers!
Winter is right around the corner, so if you’re looking for a Maine photo studio to rent, I’d love to show you around Evermore Place! Feel free to schedule a tour by sending me a quick email, or if you feel ready, go ahead and book the space! I can’t wait to meet you!
