Why interior photos are important

First, let me clarify what I mean by “interior photos” by (hopefully) relating to you. Is it just me or do you get bummed when you’re searching Google maps for a “cafe near me” and all that shows up is close-up photos of cappuccinos and bagels? If you’re like me, I keep looking until you find the one that is the vibe you’re looking for. And, last a checked you can’t get an idea of the atmosphere of a cafe by just some cappuccino photos with the cute heart made in the frothed milk on top, am I right? It’s cute but…

So, interior photos are those photos that show the full scope of the cafe – the outside (so you know you’re in the right place when you just have your Google search to go off of), the seating, the coffee bar, the products for sale, and all the details that make that cafe the one you should choose on your search of “cafes near me.”

I’ll admit, I’m sure I’m guilty for missing out on some really cool places because I went off the Google search images BUT, it goes to prove just how much people want to know what to expect before they invest their time and money. People don’t want to just read the Google review that says “Sarah at the salon gave me the best haircut of my life!”, they want to see the chair they’d get to sit in if they decide to go get haircut from Sarah, too.

As a brand photographer, I find interior photos are often overlooked. You can have great headshots of your employees and products but if your potential client has no idea what to expect when they walk into your (insert your business here), then there’s a very good chance you’re missing out on a lot of business!!
