Ever find yourself scrolling a businesses Instagram page or website and everything looks like it goes together? The headshots match the look of the photos of the products. The colors coordinate. It just…makes sense?! That’s because it’s consistent. This is just one reason why you should hire not just a brand photographer, but ONE brand photographer for your personal brand and product photography needs.
BRAND CONSISTENCY: Okay, let’s spend another minute on this one because consistency is what builds a brand. If you have a consistent logo, brand colors, fonts, and product but your photos are all over the place, it’s not good. Having all of the elements of your brand work cohesively is sure to up-level your brand and having consistent brand images is central to this! And then let’s take it one step further. Having consistent personal brand photos (these are your headshots, lifestyle photos, you showing your process, etc.) with the style of your product photos is going to build you credibility because of, yes, you guessed – the brand consistency!
QUALITY: This goes back to consistency, too. You want the quality of your personal brand photos and your product photos to match. If you have one brand photographer, you’re going to get familiar with the quality of their work (and of course, check it out before hiring them!) and know what to expect each time you get updated brand photos or have a new product photographed.
INVESTMENT: Investing in a brand photographer is a big step as a business owner! It’s a sign that you’re ready to take things to the next level and hire a professional to take something off your never ending to-do list. Not every photographer is a brand photographer. Brand photography takes strategy (more up next on this!) so you want to be sure your dollars are going to get their return on your investment. Also, each time you need updated personal brand photos or product photos, if you use the same photographer you’re going to maintain a consistent brand year-after-year which also helps maximize your investment because you’re not needing to re-photograph photos to match a “new look.”
STRATEGY: I said it before and I’ll say it again, brand photography involves strategy. Unless requested, your brand shoot is not going to just be a bunch of headshots. It’s going to be a variety of images to use for all your business and marketing needs. Having one brand photographer who knows you and your brand will have better insight into your businesses goals and be able to help elevate them with the photos.
RELATIONSHIP: Last but certainly not least, hiring one brand photographer for your personal brand and product photo needs means you’ll spend plenty of time communicating and getting to know each other. Building a relationship with one brand photographer is going to help you build trust. In my eyes, your brand photographer should be one of your biz besties because you’re on the same team!!
You’re getting product photos that sell, personal brand photos that connect, and consistent, quality images each and every time. And, if you’re working with me, you get a bonus biz bestie because I become the biggest fans of every business owner and entrepreneur I get to work with.
So, if you found this helpful and think I might be the brand photographer for you, check out my portfolio. And if you like what you see, pop over to my offers. I’d be honored to be YOUR brand photographer!
