Creative Entrepreneur Photoshoot

Chelsea Briggs, the owner of Chelsea Briggs Creative, is your ultimate hype girl. I knew this from the minute I first met up with her for coffee at my studio, Evermore Place. We sat on the comfy couch and chatted business and life like we’d been friends for awhile but we’d actually just met. So when Chelsea later reached out for her own brand shoot, I was so excited thinking about the fun we’d have planning, strategizing, and shooting together!

Chelsea’s brand is about instilling confidence in her clients so that they can step into entrepreneurship and accomplish their dreams. So, naturally, her photos needed to exude confidence! 

During our pre-shoot call (a Marissa Elise Photography perk!), we brainstormed keywords for her photoshoot: moody, sexy, powerful, strong, bold, and, of course, confident. 

Chelsea wanted to focus on her energy rather than on the different offerings of her brand, so we talked about photos and poses that would help achieve this goal. This discussion led to a brainstorm session about other creative photo ideas, which resulted in a prop list that included champagne, a director’s chair, a vintage mirror and camera, and baby’s breath. 

Chelsea Briggs Creative has a luxurious, classic vintage feel with lots of greens and neutrals. Because it was so brand on brand for her, I ordered the olive green Savage Seamless backdrop (it has been sitting in my cart for ages, but Chelsea’s vibe encouraged me to press “buy”!).

Chelsea put in the work ahead of her photoshoot, completing the pre-shoot questionnaires I sent, reviewing the brand prep resources, making mood boards, collecting inspo pictures, and sharing potential outfits with me (which helped me really understand what she was looking for!). By the day of the shoot, we were both very clear on the vibe! I pulled some props from the prop closet for her (another Evermore Place exclusive!), and she brought several as well–including that bottle of champagne! 

Chelsea booked the Gold Package, which meant we had two hours in the studio to capture her vision. 

And boy, did Chelsea shine during her shoot! She was totally bold and confident! We even had a mid-shoot dance party because we were totally feeling it! 

During the shoot, I played around with some different lighting techniques (one of which included black pantyhose–interesting for sure!) to capture that modern vintage feel we were going for. I love trying new techniques that fit my clients’ vibes!

And let’s face it, Chelsea’s photos are a total vibe. We both left the shoot hyped and feeling like we truly captured the vision!
