CloudSpot Review: Why I Switched My Photography Client Galleries

As a business owner, I’m always trying new things to make my business run smoother. I’ve found my favorite online platforms when it comes to client management and website design, but finding the perfect photo gallery platform for photographers took me a bit longer. 

As photographers, we spend so much time perfecting our client experience — from shoot to final photo gallery delivery. A while ago, I asked myself why I was still delivering photos in a way that didn’t feel like it belonged as part of the Marissa Elise Photography experience (it was clunky and difficult to use, especially for my clients!).

That’s when I found CloudSpot. In this CloudSpot review, we’ll talk about what I used before, why I switched, and what I actually like (and don’t) about the platform!

What I Used Before CloudSpot

When I first started my photography business, I delivered client photo galleries with Google Drive. If you’ve ever used Google Drive, you already know why this didn’t work for long (who wants photos delivered the same way they save their work files?!). 

Even though I switched to a more traditional gallery platform pretty early on, it still didn’t feel right for me. It wasn’t mobile-friendly and felt outdated, which meant my clients weren’t getting the VIP experience I wanted for them.

Here’s the thing, though: switching platforms felt intimidating. I already had so many client galleries on the platform I was using and not enough time to manually switch everything over. Enter: CloudSpot!

Before making the switch, I did lots of research (what can I say, I like knowing my options!). My favorite way to gather information is by asking other photographers for recommendations, and their response was unanimous: I had to try CloudSpot!

I was also able to pay a small fee for CloudSpot to transfer the rest of my galleries for me (which you better believe I did!).

• Mobile App Galleries: Where my previous platform just didn’t work right on a cell phone, CloudSpot makes a photo gallery that clients can save as an app to their home screen! Their galleries are literally a click away – which is especially helpful for brand photography clients who are constantly sharing their photos!

• Time-Saving Tools: Time is valuable, especially as a business owner. With CloudSpot, it’s super easy to upload, customize, and send galleries in minutes! I love that CloudSpot has presets for photo gallery deliveries that include layout and download preferences, among other things! 

• Easy Organization: CloudSpot makes it super simple to add to galleries I’ve already shared my with clients! I use this feature with my brand clients so that photos from all their shoots can be found in one easily organized gallery!

• Additional Features (even if I don’t use them all!): Even though I mainly use CloudSpot for photo gallery deliveries, these other features are great for any photographer wanting to streamline everything! CloudSpot offers built-in invoices and online store setup, as well as email templates and automation.

CloudSpot Cons

• Cost: Do I think CloudSpot is worth it cost? Absolutely! But as a small business owner, costs add up quickly.

• Additional Features: Like I said in my Pros, CloudSpot offers so many features. Since I focus on CloudSpot’s gallery feature, all the other capabilities are underutilized, meaning I’m paying for a lot of things I’m not using!

Is CloudSpot Worth It?

Switching to CloudSpot elevated my business. By providing my clients with a beautiful, easy-to-use photo gallery platform, I’ve made it simple for them to access and share their photos. As a brand photographer, my biggest goal is helping my clients show off their businesses – and CloudSpot makes this easy for everyone involved! I’ve already lost count of the number of times a client has told me that they absolutely love the app feature.
