Whether you’re a designer, jeweler, or, in Rachel’s case, a realtor, personal branding helps you stand out.
There are A LOT of realtors out there. Most people don’t think of a realtor as having a personal brand, but the realtors who stand out do. Cohesive professional photos allow realtors to post an interesting mix of photos. You can only look at so many interior house photos without getting bored!
Rachel Davey, a Maine real estate broker for the greater Portland area, wanted elevated photos that highlighted her approachability as a realtor.
In 2023, Rachel participated in my Brand Photo Mini Session day. These photos got her started, and she used them everywhere: on her socials, in printouts, on her website. She totally maximized the mini shoot photos (woot woot!), so she signed up for a full session at Evermore Place.
Mini sessions are great for getting started on your personal brand. But they’re only 20 minutes long, so there’s no time for outfit changes or tons of props. In her 2 hour Gold Shoot, Rachel got 3 outfit changes and full reign of the Evermore Place prop closet—something only my clients have access to! Choosing props for a photoshoot can be intimidating, so having access to the prop closet can take that weight off your shoulders!
Rachel and I raided the prop closet (hello, fun pens and notebooks!), made a cup up coffee to use as both a prop and a caffeine boost, and shuffled around the studio furniture to make sure the colors worked for her brand. Rachel’s vibe has a lot of navy, soft pinks, and neutrals, which we really worked to highlight during her photoshoot to give her a cohesive gallery to draw from.
In addition to getting updated headshots (a must for any brand shoot!), Rachel really wanted a variety of detail shots, both minimalist and intricate. If you check out her Instagram, you can see how fabulously Rachel utilized these detail shots to create educational material for her followers!
Rachel completely trusted me with her vision (thank you, Rachel!). We got little silly, and at one point, I had Rachel swinging her purse around. We ended up getting some really fun photos that captured Rachel’s easy-going approachability—traits that are so important as a realtor!
Overall, Rachel’s brand shoot captured her soft energy and gave her a variety of photos to use across her platforms. Many realtors stick with posting photos of the houses they’re selling, but Rachel will be able (and has already started!) to utilize an interesting mix of photos, from headshots, to photos of her in action, to detail shots.
Home buying is a stressful process, and finding a realtor who you can trust is important. One look at Rachel’s photos and you’ll find yourself thinking, “Yup, she looks nice! I can trust her!” And that’s was the goal!
