Handygal Design brand session

I’m a big fan of Fixer Upper with Chip and Jo but an even bigger fan of Jenny’s from Handygal Maine. Jenny is a design guru and DIY master located in Southern Maine. When she reached out to see if I’d capture her then new business endeavor that was really taking off, it was an obvious “yes!” from me!

Jenny welcomed me into her beautiful home (with the iconic yellow door) that she’d added and changed around design details since the last time I had the pleasure of photographing her there. After catching up on life and learning about the roots of how HandyGal came to be, we got to shooting! 

If you search “handygalmaine” on Instagram, you’ll see that she’s a “home decor, staging, sourcing, styling, DIY, and home project enthusiast” – she does it all! So you can imagine we captured elements of each in our brand shoot. Jenny had outfits to fit the tone of each of the different offerings she provides – from overalls (for the power tool shots) to a flowy dress in her signature yellow brand color (for the interior design shots).

One of my FAVORITE things we incorporated (besides her pup!) was her slippers and step-ladder. Jenny brings her UGG slippers and step ladder (with splatter paint memories intact) with her to every project and so we were sure to capture this part of her brand. Oh, and the coffee – she describes herself as “coffee obsessed” so I wasn’t leaving without a photo of her with her coffee!

And I’ll be honest, when I got home from this shoot I was telling my husband about all the design ideas I got from Jenny. So you can imagine, we now have gallery lights in our hallway (and I’m obsessed)!
